How to Manage Your Restaurant's Reputation Online

Image 1 3

If you own or operate a restaurant, you know how competitive it can be. What's hot today is a wind tunnel by next week. Your brand reputation is your bread and butter, and one small, negative review online can reek havoc with your sales.

Likewise, one good review or mention in a popular magazine or newspaper can really bring in business. With so much marketing that happens online, you need to manage that in a professional and speedy manner.

Let's look at a few key ways you can stay ahead of the competition and keep your customers coming back.

Brand Reputation

Once you are established, people associate certain aspects of your restaurant with certain foods, feelings, and past events. It's important to keep that.

Use Social Media

The best part of using these platforms is you can send pictures of your food. People seem to like that. But you can use it to your advantage. Start a promotion of 'tag yourself here' with the daily dish and make it go viral.

Send out 'Question of the day' and offer deals, freebies or discounts for the first five winners. Hold contests where followers are to guess a secret ingredient in your daily special.

Website

You can't survive in business without a website. if you don't have one or don't have time to run it, hire professionals to do it for you. It's imperative it's up to date. When people go to your website, they need to see your location, your contact number, and your menu.

Post your daily special, soup of the day, and any other types of fun special you use for promotion, lime 2 for 1 date night or Spaghetti Saturday.

For regular contributions of content, get someone who understands marketing, how to spread the good word and will do a great job in monitoring it all for you.

Read Reviews

Read your reviews all the time on all the sites you can. Save the good ones for promotion but don't discount the bad comments. The reason behind the bad review isn't as important as the negative comments themselves.

Acknowledge the user, thank them for bringing the problem to your attention and tell them you will look into it. Offer them a voucher for a dinner, drinks or a complimentary meal. If they are genuine, they will claim it.

Community Involvement

Offer to supply pizza for the local baseball team or a special for teams to come in for meals. This will get around on social media very quickly. People love a feel-good story and they love to share them with their friends.

Turn up the Heat

The fact is, no matter how good your food is, people want to see what others think. That means online. Your brand reputation can be made online just as easily as it can be destroyed.

3 Great Local SEO Tricks Your Sarasota Dentistry / Medical Practice Needs to Try

Image 1 2

Mastering traditional search methods and getting the most of local search are not the same thing. From a general standpoint, SEO requires you to do keyword research, use link building, and publish content on a consistent basis.

Other efforts go into creating a successful site, but they are all taken one step further when you start thinking about local search. At that point, there are even more SEO tricks available to use and boost your presence!

It may sound like a lot to handle, but local search and traditional SEO actually go hand in hand when you get the hang of everything. Here are three things to focus on to help you get started.

1. Get on Google My Business

Creating an account with Google My Business is kind of like indexing your website for basic SEO purposes. It puts you "on the map" in the most literal sense possible by giving you exposure on Google Maps.

This allows users to find you when they open their navigation app to do a search. It's incredibly beneficial considering not all mobile searches are done directly through the standard Google search bar.

When you open your account, you're able to upload pictures of your dental practice. These aren't any old pictures, either. Google gives you the option of taking potential patients on a 360 virtual tour as long as you upload all the content.

You can also share pictures of your staff and post your contact information for easy access to your website.

2. Make Your NAP Consistent All Over

The contact information mentioned above also allows users to place a direct call from their search to your office. As convenient as that is, you need to make sure all of your contact details are correct and consistent.

In terms of local SEO, this is referred to as NAP - your Name, Address, and Phone number. Everything needs to be displayed in the same way throughout your website and the rest of your online presence (i.e. social media and emails).

You can't have "45th Street" written on your homepage then "45 St." at the bottom of a blog post. It's sloppy, and it confuses Google bots. They still understand it's you, but they're more likely to rank a dentist who has fine-tuned their NAP to look the same everywhere.

3. Leverage Patient Reviews

As much as the content you share matters, so does the organic content generated by users! Loyal patients and first-timers of your dental practice alike are sure to leave reviews.

They may talk about anything from how you soothed their dental anxiety to fixed their children's smile or made scheduling so easy. Whatever your patients are saying, though, make sure it's good!

Bad reviews not only damage your local reputation online and in real life, but they hinder your local search performance. On the other hand, good reviews give you plenty of opportunities to leverage user content. Feel free to share the good things people are saying - and always respond to reviews, whether they're good or bad!

Use These SEO Tricks to Their Full Potential

It's one thing to understand SEO tricks when you read about them, and another to start using them to your advantage. Thankfully, you don't have to figure out local search alone.

4 Reasons Why Your Sarasota Restaurant's Website Needs to Be Mobile-Friendly

Image 1 1

A whopping 92% of consumers that search a business or service on their phone end up making a related purchase.

How's that for a conversion rate?

Chances are, your customers are searching for you on mobile. The question is: are you providing them with a mobile friendly website that turns those views into customers that come to dine with you?

If the answer is no, you've got some work to do. Before learning how to make your website mobile friendly, let's start with why you want to do so in the first place.

There are 4 big reasons for making your restaurant website mobile friendly, and we've listed them all for you below.

More Money Is Spent on Mobile

Out of all the time spent on online retail, 55% occurs on a mobile device. That means that there's more money to be made from making your restaurant website mobile friendly than if it's only optimized for desktop.

Mobile Consumers Are Different

Mobile users are not your traditional consumer. They want their search for information to be effortless and they won't wait patiently for it.

Websites that aren't optimized for use on mobile devices take longer to load and are difficult to browse. Though it may be possible to pull them up on a mobile device, users are 53% more likely to leave a site if it doesn't load within the first 3 seconds of their arrival.

Consider that when your diners are searching you out they're likely already hangry. Making your website mobile friendly satisfies their impatience and their desire to eat right away.

Making Your Website Mobile Friendly Captures Clients in Real-Time

35% of people who own smartphones use them to locate a store.

When potential clients are looking for somewhere to dine on their mobile device, you want them to be able to check all the aspects of your restaurant as fast as possible and make the choice to come to you. That can only happen when your website is mobile friendly.

Add to that the fact that only 56% of small businesses have a mobile friendly website and you've got yourself a competitive advantage over other restauranteurs.

Google Likes Responsive Design

First of all, what is responsive design?

In layman's terms: responsive web design ensures that your server sends the same HTML code to all devices so the user gets a useable and readable site regardless of what device they're using.

How does Google favor it?

In April 2015, Google changed their algorithm to account for the consistent increase in mobile searches. As a result of that change, websites that use responsive design and are deemed mobile friendly rank better than those that are not.

When diners are searching for the closest restaurants nearby, you want to be sure your website comes up at the top of that search.

How to Make a Website Mobile Friendly

Now that you know why making your website mobile friendly is important to bringing in diners, you're probably wondering how you go about doing that.

We can help with that. Have a look at our Capabilities to find out how we can help you with responsive design.

Google is about to punish you for not having an SSL for your website

sarasota ssl certificate seo

This year, Google is really pushing the move to SSL - they have even said they will punish sites that are not encrypted. On October 27, Google Chrome will mark your website as "not secure".

The new version of the Chrome browser will be introduced, in which all HTTP websites will get the warning badge when:
- You interact with any input field
- The page contains a password field
- You are browsing in Chrome’s incognito mode.

If your website runs on HTTP, then that means your customers will see the warning. This might make your website visitor feel doubtful about making a purchase, submitting a form, or even browsing your website.

Will my website get the “not secure” Chrome badge?

Open Google Chrome and enter your website URL address. If you see the “secure” badge (like in the above screenshot), you’re fine. That means your website runs on HTTPS, and all data that your website sends to the server and back is encrypted, i.e secure. You’re fine.

If you see http:// (without “s”) in your site address and do not see the “secure” badge — you are affected. Continue reading to find out how to react.

What to do? We recommend you to switch your website to HTTPS as soon as possible. We can help you with this.

SSL (secure socket layer) certificates have been becoming more popular with the recent release of the news that Google will punish websites that are not encrypted.

On top of that, Google also said they are “starting to use HTTPS as a ranking signal.”

Additionally, Google sent out warnings that Chrome will start showing “not secure” on non-https pages:

Google Posts are Removed After Seven Days - with One Exception

Sarasota SEO Company
Google just added a new feature call Google Posts. Google has confirmed that most Google Posts are removed seven days after they are first published. The exception to this rule is Google Posts that are based on upcoming events. Event-based Google Posts are removed after the event date.

A Google spokesperson reported that “Posts enable merchants to share timely, relevant updates on Google Search and Maps. To be sure that posts are timely, they’re removed from the default view after seven days (or when the event date the post referenced has passed). However, a historical view of posts is shown under the Posts tab on mobile.”

Google Posts recently activated this feature to most Google My Business customers. It enables businesses to share timely messages with their customers, which show up in the local panel on web search and Google Maps.

Do you know how to verify your Facebook Page?

Here's some helpful information about verifying your Facebook page.

If you're an admin and your Page has a profile picture and cover photo, your business Page may be eligible for a gray verification badge. To verify your Page, you can use your business's publicly listed phone number or a business document (example: phone bill). Facebook will only use this information to verify your Page.

To verify your Page:
    1.    Click Settings at the top of your Page
    2.    From General, click Page Verification
    3.    Click Verify this Page, then click Get Started
    4.    Enter a publicly listed phone number for your business, your country and language
    5.    Click Call Me Now to allow Facebook to call you with a verification code
    6.    Enter the 4-digit verification code and click Continue

If you prefer to verify your Page with a business document, follow the steps above and click Verify this Page with documents instead at the bottom left of the window that appears, then upload a picture of an official document showing your business's name and address.

After Facebook receives your verification code or business document, they'll review your info to confirm that it matches public records and send you a notification or email about your verification status within a few days. Keep in mind that you're not required to verify your Page.

How does Google work?

Venice FL Website Design, Venice Website Design, Website Design VeniceIn this post, we are going to run you through 5 things that you might not know about how Google works.

1) You should create individual pages for each of your products or services. Google likes webpages that are all about one topic.

If a page on one website is entirely about a specific service and a page on another website just mentions that service, Google will rank the first one higher. Therefore, in order to dramatically increase the number of people who find your website on Google, you should create individual pages for each of your products or services rather than having one pages that lists them all.

This technique of creating separate pages for each product or service is something that I do for almost all of my clients. Using this technique, we were able to get one client from the 19th page of Google to the 1st page in less than 48 hours.
